Ethnic costumes: LA HỦ ETHNIC GROUP

CHARACTERISTIC DESCRIPTION

The women's trousers are also of the "chân què" style, with a leaf-shaped waistband and tight legs, but are stitched in a fitted fashion and extend down to ankle height. When worn, there is also a long belt (up to 3m) with two red threads threaded on both ends. The black indigo dress is long, reaching the top of the ankle, and buttoned at the right armpit. The front collar and lapels are sewn with different pieces of fabric, with red thread outlining the seams. The sleeves are sewn with colorful pieces of fabric. The collars, lapels, and sleeves of young girls are even more colorful, with additional white silver coins and shiny aluminum coins attached to the front of the chest.
La Hủ women wear long shirts daily, but on holidays, they add another short jacket. This jacket extends to the belt and is buttoned in the middle of the chest without sleeves. The lapel is a butterfly-patterned strip with added silver coins and aluminum coins, and the hem of the jacket has additional colored threads.
La Hu women's headscarf consists of many parts that must be worn in a specific order. Some women also wear an additional loop of embroidered fabric on the outside of the headscarf.
In addition to the mentioned attire, La Hủ women also enjoy using silver jewelry. A complete set of their jewelry includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings.
