Ethnic costumes: CỐNG ETHNIC GROUP
Like many men from various ethnic groups residing in the northern mountainous provinces of our country, the everyday attire of Cống men consists of a shirt and trousers made of black indigo fabric. The long trousers are designed in a wide-legged, “chân què” style, making it easy for labor and mountain climbing. The trousers lack drawstrings; when worn, the waistband fits tightly around the body and is tied to the stomach.
The long-sleeved shirt is made in a four-body style with a standing round collar. Both shirt tails are equal and have two pockets on each side, with fabric buttons and straight, wide sleeves.
During wedding ceremonies or festivals, they wear long-sleeved shirts made of black indigo fabric or a black body and blue sleeves. The long shirt is tailored in a four-piece style, with a standing round neck buttoned to the right armpit, fabric, and copper buttons. When wearing a shirt that goes above the knee.
